Class of 2021

This Senior Session was taken in the span of a couple of days. We first met at the Mittry Lake Wildlife Area. I had been hoping for some wildflowers to be in bloom since we had some rare winter rain a few days prior, but no luck. Everything was pretty dead looking. I’m not gonna lie, my heart sunk a little. It was also cold and windy, not that you could tell by the pretty smile on Kendall’s face. She sure was a trooper! I just couldn’t see myself keeping her out there for very long so we missed out on golden hour. I tried my best to still give the photos a touch of it in editing.

I did make Kendall pose with a bicycle borrowed from one of my nephews. The story goes that he bought it as a gift for an old girlfriend. I know you don’t need to know that but it made me laugh inside the entire time I was shooting. I don’t know why I thought it was so funny but it helped bring my spirits up! Anyway, I bought a couple of $5 bouquets of flowers (market) and a bike license plate engraved with 2021 (amazon) and it came out so cute! I was pretty psyched with how they came out…and the flowers lived for another week on a pretty vase on my desk.

On a different, less windy day, we met at the beautiful Colorado River State Historic Park. Seriously, what a gorgeous location! Lots of historical buildings, a gorgeous lawn and the staff is very photog friendly. I had a blast shooting there and already have another session booked with it in mind. NOTE: There is a small entry fee.

I think Senior Portraits are quick becoming my favorite. I just love the enthusiasm for an undiscovered future in their faces! The excitement is contagious!
