Pickin’ In The Pines

My son’s old soul…

…loves bluegrass. He sings along to Ricky Skaggs, Bill Monroe, Del McCoury and the list goes on. We try our best to put the music world in his hands by exposing him to the best which occasionally makes its way to the Southwest. At MIM, he had the opportunity to meet Sierra Hull and after a livestream during this crazy pandemic, had a video chat with Molly Tuttle. This past weekend, we made our way to Flagstaff Arizona for the Pickin’ In The Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival. He was entranced and promptly proclaimed “I want to play on that stage!” after Ricky Skaggs’ last song of the night. When a neighboring concert goer said “it’s neat that you brought your boy here,” I smiled and replied, “he brought us.”
