Maternity
Since my first (and only) maternity session, I have learned quite a bit, AND have better equipment. The learning always brings more confidence and so I am able to direct the client towards my vision without hesitation. It isn’t that the client doesn’t have a say but, they are often driven by insecurities rather than about what it is about them that shines.
Having said all that, there was no tug-of-war between Ashley & Billy and myself. They were trusting and we were able to flow together nicely. I got them up early because it gets quite warm (scorching hot) here in the desert, but they didn’t complain. We had beautiful golden rays of early morning sun and the perfect spot along a Colorado River bank to ourselves. I have said before I’m unsure as to whether or not I want to call myself a family photographer, but it is sessions like this one that tug at my heart in that direction, and perhaps, I can just do it all.
Ashley & Billy, thank you for allowing me to encapsulate this special moment in your lives. There is nothing quite like the birth of your first child. I wish you both all the happiness, strength, health and patience on the road ahead. And of course, love. Always love.
